New Playground Equipment! Mesa Grande has added new playground equipment. The first phase of six new swings including the Play Matta safety surface along with the installation of the second phase consisting of a three slide jungle gym is now completed! Thank you to everyone who participated in our World's Finest Chocolate fundraiser and to our fantastic PTSC for their devotion to our Mesa Grande students. A special thanks to HUSD Maintenance for your dedication to our schools upkeep and safety.

Mustang Olympics Student Incentive Program
Here are some of the 180 students (a 42 student increase over Bronze medal achievers) who received a Mesa Grande Olympic Silver medal for successfully reaching their Mustang Olympic goal. After School LEAP Learning, Enrichment, and Activities Program We are pleased to announce the Hesperia Unified School District will now manage and administer After School LEAP, our new after school program, at all elementary school sites and Hesperia Junior High. After School LEAP, formerly known as ASAP or ASES, will provide students with extended learning opportunities and homework support in addition to enrichment and recreation activities. As a condition of After School LEAP, students will attend the program for a minimum of three hours each day school is in session. New Sidewalks A Mesa Grande Mustang thank you to HUSD Maintenance and the City of Hesperia for adding new sidewalks for the safety of our students, parents and guests! Curbing and beautiful plants now line the area between the sidewalk and our lawn.

Mesa Grande was awarded approximately $12,000 of Play Matta safety surface for our playgrounds.
Play Matta is a new generation playground safety surface installed in playgrounds worldwide. With attractive modular tiles over impact absorbing shock pads, it is the most durable system on the market and the surest way of achieving ongoing safety standards compliance.
HUSD Maintenance had this wonderful safety system installed under the swing sets and the monkey bars.
